This unusual umbrella stand is made from beautifully carved and stained wood. Dating from the 19th Century in the foret noire style (black forest). The timber is most likely tilleul or linden. The bear has a soulful gaze.
Woodworm has been treated.Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
